- Purpose : introducing themselves or leave a first group meeting, creating a safe space for sharing.
- Duration : it depends on how many people are in the group. Not less than 10 min.
- Materials : white big sheets paper, oil pastels.
- Participants : any age, any number
Rule :
- The group arranges themselves in a circle, all seated on a large sheet, each choosing a color.
- A person begins to trace a sign towards the next person, who hooks on to the same sign to continue tracing a circle created by all the participants.
- One by one enters the circle and says name, and three things about themself.
- At the end of the presentations, everybody stand up on the line of the circle and everyone says the word they feel as common to the group.
Comments :
This practice is useful for symbolically tracing the space of the group, in an initial phase of group building. It is a very essential activity, very suitable for closing the first day of a series of meetings. A poetic moment that crosses graphic sign, body and word
To go farther :
Everyone could put representative objects in the circle that tells about themself
